For the Pastry Shells:
• 1 sheet puff pastry (thawed but still cold)
• 1 egg + 1 tbsp water (egg wash)
• Coarse sugar (sanding sugar or granulated sugar)
• Butter (for greasing metal cones)
For the Pastry Cream (Crème Pâtissière):
• 2 cups (500 ml) milk
• 4 large egg yolks
• ½ cup sugar
• ¼ cup cornstarch
• 1 tbsp vanilla extract
• 2 tbsp unsalted butter
👩🍳 Step-by-Step Instructions
1. Prepare the Puff Pastry
Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F).
• Roll out the puff pastry slightly
• Cut into long strips (about 2 cm wide)
• Lightly grease your metal cones
Wrap each strip around the cone, slightly overlapping as you go.
2. Brush & Coat
Brush each pastry with egg wash, then roll in coarse sugar for a sweet, crunchy finish.
3. Bake Until Golden
Place cones seam-side down on a lined baking tray.
• Bake for 15–20 minutes
• Until deeply golden and crispy
Let them cool slightly, then carefully remove from the molds.
