Ingredients
- 1 cup dried hibiscus flowers
- 1 liter (4 cups) water
- 3–5 tablespoons sugar (or honey, to taste)
- 2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
- Ice cubes
- Lime slices (for garnish)
Instructions
- Boil the water
In a saucepan, bring the water to a full boil.
- Add hibiscus flowers
Turn off the heat, add the dried hibiscus flowers, and stir.
- Steep
Cover and let steep for 15–20 minutes until the liquid becomes deep red.
- Strain
Strain out the hibiscus flowers using a fine strainer.
- Sweeten
While still warm, add sugar or honey. Stir until fully dissolved.
- Cool
Let the tea cool to room temperature, then refrigerate for at least 1 hour.
- Add lime
Stir in fresh lime juice once chilled.
To Serve (Like the Photo)
- Fill a tall glass with ice cubes
- Pour the chilled hibiscus tea over the ice
- Garnish with a lime slice
- Serve cold and refreshing
