Prep time: 15 mins | Cook time: 15 mins | Servings: 4 cones
Ingredients
- The Wrap: 2 large flour tortillas, halved to create semi-circles.
- The Filling:
- 1 lb lean ground beef, browned and seasoned.
- 1 cup bell peppers (red and green), sliced into small strips.
- 1/4 cup savory brown gravy or steak sauce to create a glossy finish.
- The Melt: 1 cup shredded provolone or mozzarella cheese.
- The Crunch: 2 tbsp butter, melted (for brushing).
Instructions
- Sauté: In a skillet over medium-high heat, brown the ground beef until fully cooked. Drain any excess grease.
- Add Peppers: Toss in the bell pepper strips and sauté for 3–5 minutes until they are tender but still vibrant in color.
- Sauce it Up: Stir in your gravy or steak sauce, ensuring the beef and peppers are thoroughly coated and glistening.
- Form the Cones: Take a tortilla semi-circle and fold it into a cone shape, securing the edge with a toothpick if necessary.
- Stuff: Layer a little shredded cheese at the bottom of the cone, followed by a generous scoop of the beef and pepper mixture, and top with more cheese.
- Crisp: Brush the outside of the tortilla with melted butter. Place the cones in an air fryer at 375°F or a hot skillet for 3–5 minutes, rotating until the shell is golden-brown and the cheese is oozing out the top.
- Serve: Remove toothpicks and serve immediately while the filling is hot and the shell is crunchy.
