Ingredients
- The Pasta: 1 box (1 lb) lasagna noodles, cooked al dente.
- The Burger Filling: * 2 lbs lean ground beef.
- 1 small onion, finely diced.
- 2 cloves garlic, minced.
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce.
- The Cheese Sauce:
- 3 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese.
- 1 cup ricotta cheese (for creaminess between layers).
- 1/2 cup milk or heavy cream.
- The Toppings: * 1 cup crispy cooked bacon crumbles.
- Extra cheddar cheese for the top crust.
- Garnish: Diced pickles or fresh parsley (optional).
Instructions
- Brown the Meat: In a large skillet, cook the ground beef and onion until the meat is browned. Drain the excess fat. Stir in the garlic and Worcestershire sauce, then season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Prepare the Sauce: In a small saucepan over low heat, whisk together the milk and 2 cups of the shredded cheddar until smooth and creamy.
- Layer the Lasagna: Lightly grease a large sheet pan. Lay down a single layer of cooked lasagna noodles.
- Assemble: Spread a layer of ricotta cheese over the noodles, followed by half of the ground beef mixture. Drizzle with a portion of the cheddar sauce and sprinkle with some bacon crumbles.
- Repeat: Repeat the layers (noodles, ricotta, beef, sauce, bacon) until the sheet pan is full.
- The Top Crust: Finish with a final layer of noodles. Smother the top with the remaining cheddar sauce and a heavy layer of shredded cheddar and bacon.
- Bake: Bake at 375°F for 20–25 minutes until the cheese is bubbling and the edges of the noodles are slightly crisp.
- Serve: Let it rest for 5–10 minutes before slicing into large squares.
