🥩 For the Meat Sauce

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 lb Italian sausage
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 jar (24 oz) marinara sauce
  • 1 can (14 oz) diced tomatoes
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • Salt & black pepper to taste

Instructions:

  1. In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef and Italian sausage until browned.
  2. Drain excess grease.
  3. Add diced onion and cook 3–4 minutes until soft.
  4. Stir in garlic and cook for 30 seconds.
  5. Add marinara sauce, diced tomatoes, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
  6. Simmer on low for 15–20 minutes.

🧀 For the Creamy Cheese Layer

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups ricotta cheese (or cottage cheese)
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • ½ cup sour cream
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tbsp chopped parsley (optional)

Instructions:

  1. In a bowl, mix ricotta, cream cheese, sour cream, and egg until smooth.
  2. Stir in mozzarella, Parmesan, and parsley.
  3. Mix until well combined.

🍝 Additional Ingredients:

  • 12 lasagna noodles
  • Extra 1–2 cups shredded mozzarella (for topping)

🔥 Assembly:

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook lasagna noodles according to package directions. Drain.
  3. Spread a thin layer of meat sauce in a 9×13 baking dish.
  4. Layer in this order:
    • Noodles
    • Creamy cheese mixture
    • Meat sauce
  5. Repeat layers (usually 3 layers total).
  6. Finish with meat sauce and top with extra mozzarella.

⏲ Bake:

  • Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes.
  • Remove foil and bake another 20–25 minutes until bubbly and golden.
  • Let rest 10–15 minutes before slicing.
